YEREVAN. - Armenia actively supports the possibility of creating a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, told the aforesaid to RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

“Currently, the possibility of creating a free trade zone between Iran and EAEU—which we, of course, actively support—is under discussion,” Nalbandian said.

He also noted the wide prospects of attracting Iranian business to Armenian market. According to FM Nalbandian, Tehran and Yerevan continue working towards improving the business environment and investment possibilities for each other. “The liquidation of the visa regime between our countries became an important landmark in this process, which will also contribute to the deepening of trade and economic ties,” he added.
