Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Huseyin Muftuoglu, gave a tough response to Iranian Foreign Minister’s accusation against Turkey.

According to Turkish Cumhuriyet, the Turkish spokeseman said: “It is neither possible to accept nor to understand how a country which does not even hesitate to drive people, who took refuge in its territory in the face of regional crises, into a war zone, accuses others of being responsible for the tension and instability in the region. What is expected from Iran is to take constructive steps and review its regional policies rather than accusing countries that solely express their criticisms of these policies”.

Earlier Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu accused Iran of making Syria and Iraq “Shia countries” adding that Tehran is threatening the stability and security of the region.

Iranian Foreign Ministry handed over a note of protest to the Turkish ambassador, while Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson Bahram Ghazemi said Tehran’s patience is not “unlimited”.
