YEREVAN. – “Atlas of Artsakh” is a diplomatic weapon against Azerbaijan, Samvel Karapetyan expert on monuments and chairman of the foundation studying Armenian architecture, told reporters.

According to him, the atlas was published in the end of 2016 and has a strong political and cultural importance for Karabakh.

“Last year we had six publications, including issues about Nakhichevan and Kessab. The last piece is “Atlas of Artsakh” which is a serious diplomatic weapon against Azerbaijan,” he said.

The atlas indicates the place populated by Armenians since 1914, also springs, bridges and monasteries.

“There is a separate story about the Gandzasar Monastery, the miniature works and their authors are of great importance for us. Atlas is not a scientific work, but all the information it contains is scientifically proven. We did not write this book in the form of a scientific work in order to make it available to the public,” he added.
