The appellations “Artsakh” and “Nagorno-Karabakh Republic” are equivalent.
Head of the Central Information Department of the Office of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) President and deputy head of the NKR President’s Office, Davit Babayan, told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am commenting on various information with respect to a change in the name of the republic, under the new Constitution.
“The respective provision was in both the old and the new Constitution,” noted Babayan. “Nothing has changed.”
In his words, if the name is changed, this will be carried out smoothly and without an imperative.
