Turkey’s policy is directed against the interests of the region, Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan told RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

“Turkey is manifesting an extremely destructive demeanor in South Caucasus,” added Sargsyan. “It continues to blockade Armenia, continues to deny the obvious fact: genocide of the Armenians in the Ottoman Empire, it has withdrawn from the commitments it accepted—at international level—regarding normalization of relations with Armenia, [and] which were signed in 2010 in Zurich [(Switzerland)], in the form of protocols. And with a preconceived attitude regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Turkey continues to isolate itself from regional processes.”
