Armenia will continue the discourse with Russia regarding the possibility of purchasing arms, Defense Minister of Armenia Vigen Sargsyan told RIA Novosti news agency of Russia.

In his words, “the dynamics of Russia’s military and technical potential, progress in recent years cause deep respect and a desire to continue this cooperation.

“We [i.e. Armenia] will continue with the Russian side the dialogue around armaments’ acquisition in the Russian market,” stated the Armenian minister of defense. “Given that we obtain them with the domestic prices of the Russian army, within the framework of the CSTO [i.e. the Collective Security Treaty Organization], and considering the availability of soft loans, naturally, the potential for such cooperation is growing; we are interested in it.”
