The next meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Armenia is being prepared. 

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated the aforesaid at Wednesday’s joint news conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, in Moscow.

In Lavrov’s words, during the talk with his Armenian colleague they discussed bilateral relations, and the implementation of the agreements regarding  the coordination of actions within international organizations. 

According to the Russian FM, Armenian-Russian relations have been developing with dynamism, important agreements were reached, and cooperation between the two legislative bodies is developing.

Also, Sergei Lavrov noted that Russia is the leading foreign economic partner of Armenia, the volume of trade is very high, and Russian investments make up about 40 percent of the capital investments in Armenia. He added that major joint projects are carried out in several domains.

“We discussed the implementation of the long-term cooperation program until 2020,” added the Russian FM. 

He recalled that Russian citizens can travel to Armenia with internal passports, starting from Thursday.

“We consider Yerevan as one of the key partners in the CIS [i.e. the Commonwealth of Independent States]; an active participant of all integration processes,” stressed Lavrov.

The Russian FM added that their collaboration with Armenia continues also within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) as well as at international platforms.
