YEREVAN. – Police of Armenia do not confirm the “information” that a search was declared—through Interpol—for three European Parliament members (MEPs): Frank Engel (Luxembourg), Eleni Theocharous (Cyprus,) and Jaromír Štětina (Czech Republic).
Head of the Armenia Police Media and Public Relations Department, Ashot Aharonyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that the aforesaid MEPs are not on the Interpol wanted persons’ list.
Azerbaijani media had reported, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan, that, purportedly, the aforementioned three MEPs were wanted—through Interpol—for visiting Nagorno-Karabakh to conduct an observation mission during Monday’s constitutional referendum there.
