About 4 000 people from Russia fight with militants in Syria, said the Russian President Vladimir Putin, reports TASS. There is another 5 thousand from former Soviet countries, according to Putin, who also fight in Syria.

Putin also stressed, that taking into account the visa-free regime in almost the entire post-Soviet area, everyone needs to understand what a huge threat "that cradle of terrorism poses for Russia."
