An armed attack was carried out on the motorcade of the Minister of National Defense of Turkey, Fikri Işık.

Işık had held meetings in Dilovası district of Kocaeli Province, and, subsequently, his motorcade was heading towards Derince district, reported Cumhuriyet daily of Turkey.

At that time, however, shots were fired toward the last car in the motorcade, and from an unknown vehicle. 

Police chased and stooped this car, and detained those inside and took them to a police station.
