YEREVAN. – Salaries and pensions need to be indexed in Armenia, said economist Vilen Khachatryan, who is an MP candidate from the Armenian Revival Party, at a press conference on Wednesday.
In his words, this is the only way to follow the constitutional norm about the social character of the Armenian state.
As per Khachatryan, this indexation is indispensable based on inflation, so that if the persons’ real income does not increase, at least it will not reduce.
“For example, as a result of steps toward reducing shadow employment, more income tax will be collected from salaries,” he added.
