Numerous people in Azerbaijan believe that First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva’s appointment as First Vice President of the country is a decision that is “contrary to the principles and values of democracy and fair government.”

In an online survey which Contact.az news agency of Azerbaijan conducted, 81 percent of the respondents said such appointment was impermissible.

Solely 9 percent said this decision was “evidence of real reforms that serve the overall development of the country.”

A total of 470 people took part in this online survey.
