At least 17 died and many were injured after a large tree fell on them at a popular waterfall spot in Kintampo, Ghana, BBC reported.

As representatives of the police and rescue services noted, they were swimming during a storm when the freak accident happened. According to some data, the death toll can reach 20 people.

According to Anaglate, 18 students had died at the scene, while two others died in hospital.
