YEREVAN. - The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) treats the self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh and the contact line as an issue of the country’s dignity and identity.

Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, who is also the Vice Chairman of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), said the aforementioned at the meeting with the voters of Yerevan’s Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district Monday.

Responding to the question of an elderly voter as to how he sees the peace and good neighborly relations with Turkey and Azerbaijan, which certain Armenian political forces refer to, Karapetyan said: “Our citizens can rebuke us for different issues but we are less vulnerable in terms of the Karabakh issue, since we treat the self-determination of Nagorno-Karabakh and the contact line as an issue of our dignity and identity. Therefore, in our motto we stress the importance of security. But we will be ready to establish logical relations with our neighbors if they are willing to hold talks. Thus, I don’t rule out that after certain time we will sit down and agree on the rules of the game. This doesn’t mean that we will become friends but that we may agree on how to live side by side in one territory.”
