Europe can no longer influence Turkey under the pretext of possible membership to the EU, RIA Novosti reported quoting Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan.

"Nothing can threaten us any more - neither membership in the EU, nor the treaty on readmission of refugees. This period is over. We will move to presidential system on April 16, and we will have a completely new Turkey,” Erdogan said at the forum on forestry.

Relations between Turkey and the EU deterriorated after the authorities of Germany and the Netherlands banned the Turkish ministers' rallies with the participation of Turkish community ahead of April’s referendum on expanding President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s powers.
