YEREVAN. - I am struggling not against the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) but for my team.

Former Defense Minister of Armenia, Seyran Ohanyan, who is currently the leader of Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanian bloc, told journalists on Tuesday, referring to the statement of Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan, who tops the candidate list of the RPA.

“I am struggling for me, our team and our people. I have always reiterated and am stating this today: whether there will be supporting or opposing poles will be clear after the elections. We are working for an idea,” Ohanyan noted.

The ex-minister also added that he is proud of having been a success during the years of his service, being able to add something to the Armenian army.

“I can proudly talk about what I added, since this happened in different directions.  I can  long speak about those directions if I have to. There are also directions which didn’t exist before I took the office but I carried out activities in those spheres. But this doesn’t mean that I started building the Armenian army from scratch and don’t have a respect for all my former and present partners.”
