YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Wednesday met with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Vice President, Prime Minister, Minister for Defense, and Emir of the Emirate of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in the UAE capital city of Abu Dhabi.

Sargsyan noted that his recent official visit to the UAE raised bilateral state relations to a new level, the press office of the President informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He stressed that in parallel with high-level political dialogue, Armenia attaches great importance also to the development of comprehensive cooperation with the UAE.

Also, he thanked for the invitation for Armenia’s participation in Dubai Expo 2020. 

President Sargsyan stressed that the development of relations with the Arab world is among the priorities of Armenia’s foreign policy.

The interlocutors shared the view that the presence of the two countries’ diplomatic missions in their respective capital cities contributes to the development of bilateral relations.

The President expressed a conviction that the founding of Armenia’s consulate general in Dubai World Trade Centre will give new impetus to the development of Armenia-UAE economic ties.

Serzh Sargsyan and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum also reflected on the carrying out of the agreements that were reached during the Armenian President’s official visit to the United Arab Emirates.
