YEREVAN. - Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Armen Papikyan on Wednesday received newly-appointed Israeli Ambassador to Armenia, Eliyahu Yerushalmi (residence in Jerusalem) on the occasion of the handing of the copies of his credentials.

Papikyan noted that Armenia is interested in developing the mutually beneficial Armenian-Israeli relations, the press-service of the Armenian MFA informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.

He also expressed hope that Ambassador Yerushlami will make his important contribution to the greater expansion of cooperation between the two states.

Apart from this, the interlocutors underscored the importance of intensifying the political dialogue between the two countries, expanding the legal framework and deepening the trade and economic relations. The active cooperation between the parliamentarians of the two states was also stressed. 

Furthermore, during the meeting the situation in the South Caucasus and Middle East was discussed and the importance of ensuring peace and stability in those regions was underscored. Moreover, the interlocutors exchanged views on the existing issues and prospects for their solution.
