Armenia is satisfied with its choice in favor of the EAEU, new Armenian Ambassador to Russia, Vardan Toghanyan, said in an interview with Izvetiya newspaper.
He recalled that Yerevan held talks with the EU on the associated agreements but “we made a conscious choice in favor of the Eurasian integration.”
“If we look at the statistics, we’ll see that there has been certain growth of commodity turnover after the accession to the EAEU. We still have years-long work to do towards forming the new union. Let alone for Armenia, which has no common borders with Russia and is in the conditions of long-term illegal blockade by Turkey and Azerbaijan. It is necessary to understand that a new supranational union has been established. […] In short, we are satisfied with our choice,” the diplomat said.
