Soviet years were the “golden age” of the history of the Armenian people.

First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Armenia (CPA), Tachat Sargsyan, on Sunday noted the aforementioned at the party’s parliamentary election campaign town hall with voters in Byureghavan town of Kotayk Province.

“We [i.e. the CPA] are running for the National Assembly with a platform that will contribute to the improvement of the political situation [in Armenia],” said Sargsyan. “The political forces working in the political arena today, and which have entered into the election race, don’t even have an elementary platform.”

He added that the main reason for emigration from Armenia is the dire social situation in the country.

The parliamentary election in Armenia will be conducted on April 2.
