YEREVAN. – Armenian authorities do not understand, it is possible and necessary to increase minimum wage in Armenia twice former PM, and MP candidate from Free Democrats Hrant Bagratyan told reporters on Monday.

The party proposes to increase minimum wage from the current AMD 55,000 to 111,000 (about $230) within the next five years. It will not demand additional expenses if at the same time to suppress shadow employment and collect an additional tax on income.

According to Bagratyan, it is demanded not only strictness of tax authorities, but also universal tax declaration, not only for business but for citizens. Secondly, it is necessary to forbid transactions with mining business through offshore because of which the budget misses millions of dollars.
