YEREVAN. - Newly-appointed Ambassador of New Zealand to Armenia, Ian Alexander Hill (residence in Moscow), on Monday extended his credentials to President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

The President congratulated the Ambassador on assuming the position, wishing him success in developing the bilateral relations between the states. Sargsyan also stressed that Armenian attaches importance to the development of comprehensive relations with New Zealand, which has a great role in the Pacific region.

The interlocutors agreed that despite the geographical distance—especially given the conditions of modern technologies—the existing potential for efficient cooperation is greater than the current level of relations between the two countries.

Apart from this, President Sargsyan noted that this year marks the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and New Zealand, which obliges to revalue the relations and exert mutual efforts towards taking them to a new level.

Ambassador Ian Alexander Hill, for his part, thanked the President for the reception, noting that he will do his best to contribute to the development of relations between the two states.
