YEREVAN. - Water reservoirs of Armenia are filled slightly less than last year (94 million cubic meters) but there is still time, Deputy Chairman of Armenia’s State Committee of Water Economy, Volodya Narimanyan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am Monday.

Now the water reservoirs are filled by almost 50 percent, he added.

According to the official, melting of snow is taking place little slower this year but there are still two months. In high-mountain regions, the snow is not yet melting, thus Akhuryan (on the border of Armenia and Turkey) and Aparan reservoirs, whose recharge zones are higher, are filled less than last year.

“But I think we will collect enough water. Anyway, there won’t be a need for additional water intake from Sevan. We will confine ourselves to 170 million cubic meters,” Narimanyan said.
