The pan-Turkic referendum, which can turn Turkey into a presidential republic, began on March 27. So far, only the Turkish citizens who live outside Turkey have participated in the referendum.

The vote for the residents of Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Switzerland, and Denmark, will last from March 27 to April 9. On April 16, the referendum will be held in Turkey. About three million people residing outside Turkey will attend the referendum.

If Turkish citizens support the proposed constitutional amendments, the president of Turkey will obtain new authorities: he will be able to form the government, the budget, choose most judges, and issue orders that will receive legal statuses. The President will also be able to declare a state of emergency and dissolve the parliament.
