Military serviceman Artak Rafayelyan, who was killed Tuesday in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) as a result of the shots fired by the Azerbaijani army, was a Guinness World Records record holder.

His teacher, Gayane Simonyan, told Armenian News-NEWS.am that Artak had done 11,011 sit-ups for seven hours in a row, and therefore he was registered in the Armenian Book of Heroes and had become a Guinness World Records record holder.

“He was going to karate in his school years,” noted Simonyan. “But, also, he was endowed with extraordinary physical abilities.”

Rafayelyan, 20, was to be discharged from the army in July.
He was from Hrazdan town of Armenia’s Kotayk Province.
