YEREVAN. - The demands in the statements of Ohanyan-Raffi-Oskanian (ORO) and Yelk (Way Out) blocs submitted to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Armenia are similar but their grounds differ.

Chairman of the CEC, Tigran Mkrtchyan, told the aforementioned to journalists on Tuesday after the extraordinary session of CEC.

In his words, Yelk bloc submitted the statement Tuesday—just several hours ago.  “We managed to study and look through the statement, but, apparently, this document will be studied in the future since many documents have been submitted. The CEC will listen to the representative of the bloc and adopt a relevant decision,” Mukuchyan said.

During the extraordinary session of CEC, deputy candidates from Yelk bloc, Artak Zeynalyan and Nikolay Baghdasaryan, asked to involve them in the process of discussing the statement of ORO bloc as a third party but the CEC refused that proposal through voting.

Earlier, during the extraordinary session on Tuesday, the CEC refused the demand of ORO bloc to invalidate the registration of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) on the upcoming parliamentary elections slated for April 2.
