YEREVAN. – There will be no protests and demonstrations after the parliamentary election in Armenia, said political pundit Karen Kocharyan, at a press conference on Tuesday.

In his words, in actual fact, all the political forces that ran for parliament in Sunday’s election have accepted the voting results.

“And [therefore] there will not be post-election processes,” added Kocharyan. “The equivalent political forces realize that these actions are not an end in itself; that is, foundations are needed so that some constituents believe that, allegedly, the votes were stolen, and express [respective] discontent. But our constituents know very well whom they elected, and how they elected.”

According to preliminary results, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia received the most number of votes, with over 49 percent.
