A dog saved a newborn baby who was buried alive in Chongqing, China, The Sun reported.

The owner of the dog said that he was alerted when saw his pet desperately trying to dig a hole in the ground. Approaching the hole, he noticed a baby wrapped in a piece of white cloth.

The rescued child turned out to be about a month old. The baby was hospitalized with a low temperature and slow heart rate.

The boy's life was not in danger, but he needed time to regain health.
