YEREVAN. – Everyone’s attention is focused especially on the new Yerevan Council’s candidates from the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), according to Irates (Realistic) newspaper.

“[According to the Yerevan city council election results,] the RPA will have 46 mandates, [the opposition] Yelk [(Way Out)] Bloc of Parties—14, [and the opposition] Yerkir Tsirani [(Apricot Country)] Party—5, at the council.

“[But] there is great commotion at the RPA. Although everything was clear from the list, in the case of the others—that is, those included on the top ten [of the lists] will become council members, there still will be surprises in the case of the RPA.

“According to our information, many people [from the RPA] will lay down their [Yerevan Council membership] mandates; at least twenty people from up to 46 people will not become a council member,” wrote Irates.
