The delegation led by Armenian Defense Minister Vigen Sargsyan on Friday attended the subsequent session of the Council of Defense Ministers of CIS states held in Moscow.  The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Council formation, the press-service of the Armenian Defense Ministry informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.

According to the session agenda, a number of issues on the further improvement of the multilateral military cooperation were discussed.

Based on the results of the session, decisions were adopted on the development of joint air defense system and communication systems, humanitarian demining, training of military staff, combat-readiness and joint field trainings, as well as implementation of other joint educational programs. Apart from this, the procedures for the implementation of the joint actions of the CIS participating states for 2017 were outlined.

During his stay in Russia, Vigen Sargsyan also attended the reception organized on behalf of Secretary General of Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Yuri Khhachaturov on Thursday, The event was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of signing the CSTO Treaty and 15th anniversary of CSTO formation.
