YEREVAN. – Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh Republic/NKR) Defense Army serviceman Alik Avanesyan sustained a gunshot wound on Tuesday, and as a result of the shots fired by Azerbaijan.

Colonel Kamavor Khachatryan, Head of the Military Medicine Department of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, told about the above-said to reporters.

“He is currently in [NKR capital city] Stepanakert Military Hospital,” Khachatryan added. “Doctors say he is in critical condition.”

In his words, at present, it is not possible to transfer the wounded soldier to Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
