Those that abducted Azerbaijani opposition journalist Afgan Mukhtarli, in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi, were wearing police uniforms, contact.az news agency of Azerbaijan reported citing attorney Neymat Karimli.

In his words, when Mukhtarli had returned home, a car suddenly appeared in front of him and three persons in police uniform came out from the vehicle.

Another person, but in civilian clothes, also was with them.

They forced Mukhtarli into the car and beat him.

Karimli added that they drove the Azerbaijani journalist out of Tbilisi, and then put a sack over his head and tied his hands.

Sometime thereafter, he was put in another car.

Mukhtarli was taken out of this vehicle when they had reached Azerbaijan.

Afterward, someone named Jero was informed that Afgan Mukhtarli was already in the custody of Azerbaijani police.

On the next day, he was taken to capital city Baku.

In the evening, a case was opened against the Azerbaijani opposition journalist, and attorneys got involved in the process, Neymat Karimli added.
