The number of casualties from the twin attacks in the Iranian capital on Wednesday has grown from 13 to 16 people dead, Tasnim news agency tweeted.

Gunmen and suicide bombers on Wednesday carried out attacks on Iran’s parliament and the mausoleum of revolutionary founder Ruhollah Khomeini in capital city Tehran, injuring over 40 people.

The Islamic State militant group has claimed responsibility for these attacks.
