YEREVAN. – Armenia lauds Russia’s efforts within the framework of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Minsk Group, and aimed at resolving the Karabakh conflict, stated Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian, during his remarks devoted to Russia Day, on Sunday evening.

In his words, it was thanks to Russia that the ceasefire agreement at the conflict zone was signed in 1994, and this enabled to commence the Karabakh peace talks. Nalbandian added that, now, Yerevan praises Russia’s peacekeeping efforts along the lines of the OSCE Minsk Group, and which it carries out despite the destructive stance of Azerbaijan.

The Armenian FM stressed that over the course of the past quarter-century of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Russia, the leaders of these countries have met more than one hundred times, and that this yet again bespeaks the special nature of these relations.

As per Edward Nalbandian, the development of Armenian-Russian economic cooperation also is of great importance.

“We are confident that Armenian-Russian allied relations will also develop and grow deeper,” he concluded.
