STEPANAKERT. - Certain difficulties have emerged in the Russian-Azerbaijani relations.
Former chief of the National Security Service of Armenia, Davit Shahnazaryan, said the aforementioned at Saturday’s session of the 3rd Forum of Armenian Parties held in Stepanakert, Artsakhpress reports.
In his words, the Karabakh issue and, first and foremost its military component, continue to remain a priority for the country. “Today the protection of our borders is our guarantee. I think the possibility of a new large-scale war has slightly reduced in the recent three months but we should be ready any second. There is a very important factor here: certain difficulties have emerged in the Russian-Azerbaijani relations in connection with gas benefits,” Shahnazaryan said.
In his speech, he also referred to the parliamentary diplomacy, noting that it has a great potential. The former official expressed hope that the parliamentary delegations will act concurrently in different platforms.
By the end of the session, the attendees asked questions, which mainly related to the Karabakh issue, the border tension and other external challenges.
