YEREVAN. – The Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia, Davit Tonoyan, on Monday received Italian Ambassador Giovanni Ricciulli.

They discussed the avenues for the expansion and deepening of Armenian-Italian cooperation in emergencies and civil defense, the Ministry of Emergency Situations informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The minister stressed the wide opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in civil defense.

Also, the interlocutors reached a preliminary agreement on potential collaboration with the Italian Red Cross.

In his remarks, Tonoyan underscored Italy’s part also as a mediator in intensification of cooperation between Armenia and other European countries, when it comes to emergencies.
