YEREVAN. - The condition of Armenian soldier Yuri Zakaryan, who was transported from Stepanakert to the Central Clinical Military Hospital of the Armenian Defense Ministry in Yerevan, remains critical but stable. 

Head of Military-Medical Department of the Defense Ministry, Kamavor Khachatryan, told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

“The serviceman is still connected to the ventilator. We will try to switch it off in the coming days,” Khachatryan said.

Zakaryan suffered a firearm wound in his head. He was transported to Yerevan two days later.

Compulsory serviceman Armen Vardanyan, who was wounded on June 16, is also in the hospital. He has suffered head injury as a result of mine explosion. According to Khachatryan, shrapnel has remained in the soldier’s head, and it is yet early to predict whether he will undergo a surgery or not.

As reported earlier, three Armenian soldiers were killed as a result of the firing by the Azerbaijani armed forces on June 16. Defense Army servicemen Arayik Matinyan (born in 1997), Vigen Petrosyan (born in 1997) and Vardan Sargsyan (born in 1997) were fatally wounded. 

In the morning of June 17, Karabakh army said Azerbaijan resorted to a new provocation as a result of which a 20-year-old soldier was killed in the morning. Two other soldiers were wounded.
