YEREVAN. – Armenian government will bring defense into a qualitatively new level, Armenian MP said in the parliament Thursday session during discussion of government's action plan for 2017-2022.

Koryun Nahapetyan, member of the Armenian National Assembly Standing Committee on defense, national security and legal affairs said large-scale reforms will be carried out to form a new defense system, taking into account the military and political realities.

“Taking long-term programs as a basis, we will pass to qualitative indicators in the defense budget from quantitative ones.  I hope that in the near future the government will set clear aims in this direction. Besides, we will also increase social security of the military personnel and will improve military education,” Nahapetyan assured.
