YEREVAN. – Armenia’s sector of energy is open to investments, Minister of Economic Development and Investments of Armenia Suren Karayan told Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In his words, like in many developed countries, the tariffs in the sphere of energy are set by an independent regulator but no artificial obstacles are created for anyone’s work. “The sector is competitive and open for work and investments—both Armenian and foreign ones,”Karayan added.

Earlier, US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills presented the assessment of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of Armenia, according to which the renewable energy of the republic has $8 billion investment potential.
