British Prime Minister Teresa May suggests to grant residence permit to citizens of the EU who have lived in the UK for at least 5 years, BBC reported.

Such a measure will allow these people to live freely in the country and to receive healthcare, education, welfare and pensions after Brexit.

At the same time, May noted that the proposal will operate only if similar steps are taken for the  UK citizens who live in the EU countries.
