YEREVAN. – GSP +, according to 2016, means at least €8.7 million of tariff benefits for Armenian exporters to the European Union, European External Action Service advisor on traded issues Guus Houttuin who is heading the first visit of GSP + monitoring mission to Armenia, told reporters on Friday.

But, according to him, GSP + doesn't stop there.

EU adviser noted that in return for this tariff preferences as a part of this mission's objectives they are looking to respect by Armenia of 27 core Conventions on human rights, labor rights, environment and good governance. "With the help of our delegation we were able to dig a bit deeper to the facts on the ground. We held meetings with civil society, with international organizations, with trade unions, with workers, with business", he said.

The mission held discussions with government representatives in connection with the functions of the Armenian Human rights' defender and the upcoming legislation package on anti-corruption, including the anti-corruption commission.
