YEREVAN. – President of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, Ara Babloyan, who is paying a visit to the South Korean capital city of Seoul, on Monday met with Choi Sungho, President of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

Babloyan underscored KOICA’s mission and ongoing programs, the NA informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“We highly assess the important support programs that have been brought into life by your agency in Armenia,” he noted. “All implemented programs are distinguished by their efficiency and important significance for our country.”

Also, he touched upon the NA technical upgrading by KOICA from 2010 to 2012, as a result of which, the sessions’ hall of the Armenian parliament was re-equipped with modern technology. The parliament speaker proposed to discuss the avenues for establishing a KOICA office in Armenia to further intensify cooperation.

Sungho, for his part, noted that South Korea-Armenia cooperation is at high level, but it should be deepened further.

The interlocutors agreed to work on the second phase of support to the NA to ensure the new obligations assumed by the Armenian parliament after the constitutional reforms, and make parliamentary oversight more efficient.
