The delegation led by Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly (NA) Ara Babloyan on Monday met with Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly Vyacheslav Volodin in Seoul.

At the meeting, Ara Babloyan underscored the importance of the centuries-old Armenian-Russian relations, which entered a new stage in the context of the EAEU membership of the two countries, the press-service of the NA informed Armenian News – NEWS.am.

The Armenian official noted the constructive role of Russia as an OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing state in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict resolution.

Mr Babloyan also proposed to hold the next meeting of the heads of the parliaments of the Eurasian countries in Yerevan, highlighting the importance of strengthening the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the states of the Eurasian region.

Vyacheslav Volodin, for his part, congratulated Ara Babloyan on being elected Armenian NA Speaker and wished him fruitful activity.

Apart from this, Mr Volodin referred to the high-level cooperation between the parliaments of Russia and Armenia, emphasizing the activity of the parliamentary friendship groups in terms of strengthening and deepening the relations.
