Spirit of peace dominates in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR/Artsakh).

Israeli political scientist Avigdor Eskin, who is on a study visit to Artsakh, stated the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am.

In his words, he arrived in Artsakh to share the Israeli experience, as well as learn more. ''What I saw in Karabakh was quite different from what I could imagine, since I read a lot but all that was [merely] information about the conflict. It is very important to make it known to people that up to 150,000 people live here and are engaged in creative work. The level of education and cultural life is incredibly high here: people are engaged in creative work and can thus serve as a bridge for many other regions. One who arrives here gets in touch with both the ancient history and the fact that the people residing in Karabakh are disposed to creating,'' Eskin shared his impressions.

According to him, Karabakh has developed agriculture and own production. ''The very fact that these people were in conflict perhaps contributed to the development of education. We see that there is absolutely no crime here. The atmosphere is very calm and amicable in the streets. And I think that those who see that realize that peace is needed and possible,'' he noted.

The study visit of Avigdor Eskin is organized upon the initiative of Diplomat.am project.

In capital city Stepanakert, the Jewish political scientist met with Artsakh National Assembly MPs, presented the Israeli policy in connection with the events in the South Caucasus region, as well as his vision about the cooperation between Israel and Nagorno-Karabakh.
