YEREVAN. - Azerbaijan is the only one responsible for the tension on the contact line, Spokesperson for the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Eduard Sharmazanov told journalists after the RPA Supreme Body session on Thursday.
He explained the recent developments on the contact line by the fact that Azerbaijan has reached a deadlock in the negotiations and cannot find political will to fulfill the agreements, looking for occasions to escalate the situation.
“The Azerbaijani leadership is responsible for and guilty of all the victims of both sides. As to yesterday’s occurrence, I’ll say the same: The military and political leadership of Azerbaijan is the only guilty one. It is unacceptable to turn one’s own population into a shield and then hide in its rear, trying to conceal one’s own terrorist essence,” Sharmazanov noted.
According to him, the statements of the international community are quite balanced and in this terms Azerbaijan’s wishes have failed.
“We have videos released by our armed forces and we have clear evidence. People who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones,” he said.
The spokesman also didn’t rule out that the recent conduct of Azerbaijan might also be connected with the sensational data published by the Bulgarian media, according to which Azerbaijan delivered weapons to terrorists.
