YEREVAN. - Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies of Armenia Vahan Martirosyan on Friday received a number of businessmen of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) headed by Atek Mohammed Mesfer Aldaheri.  

The guests noted that they aim to implement a number of programs in Armenia, including in the sphere of transport.

“In Armenia we see a positive environment for making investments. By working here we also aim to create jobs for Armenian citizens,” Mr Aldaheri said.

Referring to the areas of cooperation, the UAE businessmen noted that they have rich experience in road construction, in particular in the area of highway and railway, as well as bridge construction. According to them, they implemented large projects in China, Russia, Iraq and other states.

Minister Vahan Martirosyan proposed several options of cooperation, including those aimed at the creation of transportation systems, construction of an express railway from Yerevan to Dilijan and new road linking Zvartnots airport to Yerevan.

Arrangement was made on setting up a working group and discussing the possible areas of cooperation, as well as the directions of their implementation with the participation of the specialists of both sides.
