The basis for the concept paper on electronic commerce in the Eurasian Union is expected to be drafted in several months, Director of the Financial Policy Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), Tigran Davtyan, told Armenian News – NEWS.am on Saturday.
Among other things, it will be necessary to decide how to levy VAT from it if the online shop is located in one republic, the buyer being in another.
“We will most probably propose levying VAT based on the location of the buyer. VAT is an indirect tax, which is paid exactly by the buyer. But the discussions have not yet concluded. We hope we will be able to present certain results shortly,” Davtyan said.
