YEREVAN. – Armenian side has no new approaches following the 4-day war, President of "Armenia Serzh Sargsyan said in an interview with the “R-Evolution” program on Armenia TV channel. 

“I'm not suggesting changes in positions, at least from the Armenian side. As for the concessions, for the last 20 years we have never spoken about them, nowhere and in no way. We have always pushed and continue to talk about a compromise. These are different things. I am sure that if this issue is not resolved for another 20 years, the Armenian side will never have a desire to ease the situation through concessions. Because this is a disastrous way,” the Armenian leader said.

The goal of the Armenian side is obvious: realization of Karabakah people’s right to self-determination. 

“This right is envisaged for by the charters of international organizations, and is an internationally accepted legal principle, and it must be realized.

This is the first most important point.  Secondly, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic should have a land border with the Republic of Armenia. This is the second principled position. And, finally, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic should have reliable security guarantees. We have talked about this for 20 years,” Sargsyan said.

The participation of Nagorno-Karabakh in drafting a document on these principles is mandatory, he added.
