At least 18 people were killed and as many remained missing in floods in China's northeastern Jilin province, RIA Novosti reported quoting CCTV.

Heavy rains in the central and eastern parts of the province left the region inundated. 

More than 115,000 people had to be relocated as a result of the rains.

A number of settlements turned out to be without electricity, roads were washed away and destroyed, communication is cut because of bad weather.

Over 32,000 rescuers have been deployed in the city to remove the sludge and debris, repair bridges, and reconnect households to telecommunications and electricity network.
