The OSCE Ministerial Council adopted by consensus the decision to appoint Thomas Greminger as the OSCE Secretary General.

The Council also appointed Ingibjorg Sólrún Gísladóttir as Director, OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Lamberto Zannier (Italy) as OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities, and Harlem Désir (France) as OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media.

OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz, who led an intensive consultation process, expressed his satisfaction regarding these crucial appointments for the functioning of the organization. In this context, he commended the constructive engagement of the OSCE participating States in the final talks.
